Ligature is something used for tying or binding tightly. Anti-ligature products/devices prevent or reduce the risk of vulnerable people from harming or self-harming.

Ligature risk points can be anything from stray cord, rope, lace or similar materials used by susceptible people for strangulation. Attachments points often include hooks, doors, window frames, etc.

Anti-ligature products are used in police-station cells, secure hospital rooms, prison cells, mental health institutions, migrant detentions centres and other, potentially high-risk facilities.
